Saralynn Lane – Chatsworth, CA – Earthwork Project

Magnum Land Clearing, Inc. performed this project in the Chatsworth Lake Manor / Box Canyon area of unincorporated Ventura County for a residential general contractor specializing in prefabricated home sales. Before our involvement with the project, another contractor had performed significant earthwork at the site; however, the site was not “signed off” for building and the earthwork that had been done was considered an “uncertified fill” and therefore needed to be redone, yet the site had been deemed “inaccessible” by other earthwork contractors. Working under the direction of the general contractor and a new design team hired by the property owner, we dug exploratory excavations for the soils engineer to use in order to determine the remedial action he would specify. This ultimately led to us performing soil removal and recompaction (“R&R”) to 90% density and grading to create a pad for a new home and another pad for a carport as well as for a driveway and fire department turn-around. After our work was completed, the other construction trades (which had been delayed by the “uncertified earthwork” done by another contractor) could proceed uninhibited.
